The Challenge
James was moving to Bergen County from out of state. He could not drive past a listing after work, walk the block on a Sunday, or feel a neighborhood out over a weekend. Every decision had to be made from a distance, on trust, in a market he had never lived in.
The Approach
When a client cannot be here, my knowledge has to stand in for theirs. We started with the neighborhood, not the house: what Fort Lee’s sections feel like, where the buses pick up, what buildings hold their value. I walked properties as his eyes, flagged what the photos would never show him, and coordinated the inspection and closing details locally so nothing depended on his travel schedule.
The Outcome
James closed on his Fort Lee home without the process ever feeling out of his control, and the neighborhood fit he was most worried about turned out to be the easiest part.
